EACH YEAR, Adventist Health coordinates several mission trips to bring hope to people in need across the globe. The COVID-19 pandemic brought our international relief efforts to a halt. But that gave us a chance to focus on local relief. In June, we loaded a truck with 800 boxes of fresh produce from Farm to Family and 120,000 servings of soup from Gleanings for the Hungry. We delivered the supplies to the Amador Tuolumne Community Action Agency (ATCAA) food bank warehouse in Jamestown. Adventist Health Sonora is proud to partner with ATCAA. In addition to providing food and other resources directly to families, ATCAA also distributes food to other community partners. Having access to nutritious food is an important step in building a healthier community. “ATCAA does a remarkable job of not only collecting and distributing food but also making sure that people are served with dignity and respect, the same whole-person care at the core of Adventist Health’s mission,” says Matthew Rose, Community Integration Director for Adventist Health Sonora.
